Halloween at JOVI

Pumpkin for a day!

Do you want to attract the fairies into your life and scare off the demons? Wonder no more!  We are ready to enlighten you!

The tradition of carving faces into vegetables dates to the Celts. As part of their autumnal celebration, they wanted to light the way to their homes for the good spirits and to ward off imaginary demons, so they carved faces into vegetables such as turnips and squash. A light was placed within the hollowed out vegetable.

These carved vegetables were eventually called Jack O’Lanterns by the Irish, who told a legend about a farmer named Jack who made a bargain with the devil that left him wandering the earth for all time.

When the immigrants arrived in America and found a bountiful supply of pumpkins, they soon adopted the pumpkin as the best fruit (and it is a fruit!) for carving Jack O’Lanterns.

¡Working hard on Halloween!

To make these incredible pumpkin makeups, we have used the following products:

Thanks to its highly pigmented formula, we have achieved the orange hue of the pumpkin with our Pastel Shadow Pencil, making strokes all over the face and spreading easily with a wet sponge. We have also used the yellow color to give luminosity and stand out effect.

We have defined the lines in the same way that we would in any drawing thanks to the precision and high pigmentation of our Eyeliner Khol Kajal. We have also taken the white colour to play with the effects of depth.

To fill in the too large black holes, we used the black colour of our smokey eyes, very easy to apply and blend.

Finally, to outline the details, we have used an essential: Black Dipliner. With a brilliant finish and incredible coverage and precision, we finish the lines defining and fixing them.
